Our task was to translate a written, first person account of a significant event, through memory or immediate experience, into an expressive typographic experience that is designed as a site-specific installation in a gallery or space of our choice. I chose to look at hip-hop flyers from the 80's onwards, and how the art of sampling has evolved hip-hop music forever. I took inspiration from these handmade flyers and created my own, alongside other installations to tell viewers the story of sampling in hip-hop history.
